I think this is a great trail for locals and scout troups planning on camping at the top of the trail, but was not something I'd suggest as a destination hike for people that have to drive more than a few miles. Also, the scrub oak encroaches on the trail most of the way and you have to brush past it or push through it and after a while this gets annoying. Our guide, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City, said that 'sure-footed' hikers could hike to the bottom of the 40 foot falls, but I would qualify that with the addition of 'mountain goat genes in your blood.'
I liked some of the interesting 'zebra-striped' rocks in this canyon.
I saw lots of these little flowers.
The creek is hidden from view most of the trail, but at times you can see it peeking through the scrub oak.
Reminds me of a petrified tree, but probably isn't.
You cross several tributaries.
There's the falls. This was the best view I could get. Do you think I'm going to break my neck to a better shot of these falls?
Our guide mentioned a couple of cars you can see from the trail that fell off the road above many years ago.
This is what happens when you let your wife take the camera.
And the view of Farmington hiking back.
Happy Trails!
