This hike was awesome! I hadn't quite recovered from Timpanogos Cave the day before (we're taking three of the hikes from our guide, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City, for our three-day pass we purchased for American Fork Canyon), so it beat me up pretty good . . . but this hike was so beautiful and full of wonderful textures and colors that it was totally worth it.
This is the view of Timp from the trailhead parking lot at Silver Lake Flat (a man-made resevoir). The 3-mile dirt road to this point was horrid . . . drive carefully! I did get the classic mountain in the lake shot from here.
Dixie thought this mount looked like it was growing hair.
Huge boulders with my awesome wife.
You know I love the wildflowers.
Looking back on Silver Lake Flat.
You can now see the twin falls coming from Silver Lake.
Dixie wanted to touch the lake and see if it was cold.
I just think this rock formation is cool.
Well, there I am. So far the biggest guy I've seen on the trail, but I'm working on lightening up. So far I'm T-minus 12 lbs.
Happy Trails!
